Education and Teaching Experience

  • 1979 - He gained the University Entrance Diploma at  Mantova’s “Liceo Scientifico Belfiore”.
  • 1985 - Electronic Engineering Degree (Computer Science Specialisation), gained at the Electronic Engineering Department of Milan Polytechnic.
  • 1997-2006  - Teacher/Trainer at the European Space Agency giving courses on C, C++, C# and Java programming languages, object oriented programming techniques, real time systems, XML and related technologies.
  • 2000-2006 - Contract professor at the Computer Science Department of Verona University giving courses on C, C++, C# and Java programming languages, real time systems, XML and related technologies.
  • 2007-Now – Contract professor at the seat of Mantova of the University of Pavia giving courses on Software Engineering.

Work Experience

  • 09/1986-08/1988 - SW Engineer at FIAR S.p.A., Milano, Italy. He worked on the design of an expert system for aircraft radar maintenance and troubleshooting. His main interests in that period were software quality assurance and software engineering.
  • 09/1988-06/1991 - SW Engineer at STR s.r.l., Suzzara (MN), Italy. He worked on the system software and the user machine interface of a software package used by building industries.
  • 07/1991-06/1993 - SW Engineer at the European Space Agency, Noordwijk, The Netherlands. His main areas of interest were system and mission management software, fault management and the use of the Ada programming language in space applications.
  • 07/1993-07/1999 - Senior SW Engineer at the European Space Agency, Noordwijk, The Netherlands. He was responsible for the development, of various software systems: e.g. on board data management systems, radiation protection applications and device drivers, distributed systems. He became software quality assessor for the Bootstrap, Spice and ISO 9000-3 methodologies. In that period he was also responsible for evaluating the applicability of new technologies, e.g. Internet communication protocols, to space applications.
  • 09/1999-10/2002 - Corporate Technical Coordinator at Sitek S.p.A., Verona, Italy. In this position he managed and coordinated the use of (new) technologies in all hardware and software projects of the group, an organisation mostly active in industrial electronics and process control applications. In the software area he promoted the use of XML based technologies like OPCXML and SVG.
  • 11/2002-01/2007 – Principal Engineer at Serco FM B.V., Noordwijk, The Netherlands. He’s responsible for the development of a XML based software system for the authoring and visualization of crew procedures. He is responsible for the development of speech synthesis and recognition applications for the Pocket PC platform.
  • 02/2007-now – Chief Technical Officer at Ad Hoc Sistemi S.r.L. in Porto Mantovano (Mantova), Italy. He’s responsible for all development and production activities of AdHoc Sistemi, an organization delivering Web based software solutions for corporates and business customers.
    In February 2007 he founds Spazio IT, an organization providing IT business solutions.
